I started working at Centennial Animal Hospital in 2002.  I graduated from Georgian College with an Office Administration - Medical diploma and went on to become a certified Nutrition and Wellness Specialist.

My husband and I share our home with our son, and our cats; Angus, Hook, and our dog, Joey.   We also have two Chihuahuas named Dino and Rosie.

After graduating from Niagara College with a diploma in Human Resources Management, my husband Barry and I began our life together in Brampton.  After six years we decided to give up city life and begin a life in Muskoka.

I decided to stay at home for a few years to raise our two sons, Taylor and Matthew.  Centennial Animal Hospital became our veterinary care provider and Dr. Lehman helped us through both the good and bad times with our furry children.  After several years as a client, I was invited to submit an application for employment.  I am currently part of the client services team here at Centennial and I can honestly say that I really enjoy my work here.

Our entourage of pets includes four dogs, Lehman, a lab/golden cross , Dolly and Violet, both St. Bernards and Rufus, a Mastiff; and three cats, Luvy, Cheddar and Peanut.

In March of 2006, I decided to change my career from working in the building industry to working with animals.  My love of these furry friends has led me to Centennial Animal Hospital and back to school to become a Veterinary Technician.

Working at the forefront of our clinic as a Client Service Representative has given me a deeper appreciation and respect for all aspects of a veterinary hospital and those who work in this field.  I also have the great honour and pleasure of being a member of Centennial’s Smart Owners, Smart Pet team and volunteer with Muskoka Veterinary Imaging and love it.

I am the proud mother of two fur-kids.  Oscar, our cat, and Suka, our very vocal Alaskan Malamute.  My husband and I also enjoy being a foster home for rescued Malamutes through the Alaskan Malamute Help League.

As a proud member of the Centennial Animal Hospital team, I look forward to meeting you and your pets.

I graduated from the hospitality and Tourism Department at Ryerson Polytechnical University in 1991.  I worked for Princess Cruises for three years traveling in the Caribbean, Alaska and the Mediterranean.  After working in Banff and Toronto, I settled in Newmarket and worked at a veterinary clinic as a receptionist, finally fulfilling my desire to work with animals.  I also volunteered at the Etobicoke Humane Society as a Cruelty Investigator.  After moving to Muskoka, I started working at Centennial Animal Hospital with the Client Services team in 2003.  Currently, I work part-time at both our Gravenhurst and Gravenhurst offices.

I live in Gravenhurst with my husband Paul and our daughter Megan.  We share our home with BJ, a boxer, Sally, a cat adopted from the Humane Society, a ferret named Miley, and many aquarium and fresh water fish.

Brenda Massey

I joined the Client Services team at Centennial in September 2007.

I was born and raised in the Muskoka area and I currently live in Gravenhurst with my husband Steven and our two "kids" Jack and Piccolo (who are Jack Russell Terriers).  Our two non-furry kids are off at University in Guelph, ON. and England, UK.

I joined the team at Centennial in February 2008. Having spent my summers at the family cottage at Walker's Point it is really no surprise that I ended up in Muskoka.

Prior to settling here, I worked in many different areas, including Lake Louise, Alberta and Walt Disney World in Florida.

Currently, I have 4 dogs; 2 Jack Russell Terriers, 1 Chinese Crested, and 1 Chinese Crested cross. No plans for any more dogs, but you never know..

My home town is Port Carling. I graduated from B.M.L.S.S. and then attended Centralia College of Agriculture Technology where I received a diploma in Animal Health Technology.  Through high school and college I was fortunate to work summers at Centennial Animal Hospital.  My first job as an A.H.T. was at a clinic in Whitby.  After three years of city life I grew homesick for Muskoka and returned to Centennial.  I made the difficult decision to leave after eight years to be a stay-at-home Mom to our son Travis and daughter Chantal.  When my kids were both attending school full time I returned to work in our Gravenhurst office.

My husband Terry and I live with our children in Vankoughnet and share our home with our yellow Lab Cooper and our “Angel-cat” Gizmo.

I have been working as a Veterinary Technician since June 2002 after I graduated from Ridgetown College.  However, I had worked at Centennial Animal Hospital in patient care during my high school years for several years before.  My special interests include gentle leader training, senior pets, nursing care and radiology.

I have lived in Bracebridge all my life and have always loved animals.  My husband Trevor and I share our home with a wonderful dog that I adopted from Ridgetown named Piper, Marley, a dog from the OSPCA and our two cats, Lois, who also came from Ridgetown, and Lucas, who I raised from a two day old kitten. I am currently on maternity leave, waiting on the birth of our first child.

Krista Brubacher

I completed the Veterinary Technology program at Ridgetown College and began working at Centennial in 2000.  Veterinary dentistry is my special interest.

My husband Jay and I have three children - Mya, Lena and Jack and share our home with Harry, a Border Terrier and Rudy, our cat.

I was born and raised in Hamilton and moved to Muskoka in 2004.  I grew up in the country and always had animals; I loved tormenting my country neighbours with wild snakes and frogs!  I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be in a profession that dealt with animals.

In May 2003, I graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Ridgetown College and went straight to work at The University of Guelph in the Avian and Exotics department.  A year later, I received an offer to move up to beautiful Muskoka and here I am!  I started working at Centennial in May 2004.

My husband, Graydon and I share our home with two dogs, Oscar and Charlotte and two cats, Chevy and Cali.  We also have a beautiful aquarium which is swimming with fish. I am currently on maternity leave, waiting on the arrival of our second child.

I have been working at Centennial Animal Hospital since January 2006 but I was born and raised in Bracebridge.  Prior to working here I worked at another small animal clinic and an emergency clinic in Barrie.  I graduated from Northern College in New Liskard in 2004.

I currently live with 4 cats; Harold, Mia, Reba, and Marilyn. Along with one of the other tech's I help foster orphaned kittens, Marilyn being one of my first litters. This year I also introduced my very first dog into my house, he is a Yorkshire Terrier named Jaydan. I always had family dogs, but was unable to have a dog while in school so to keep myself entertained I trained Harold to sit, lay down, and sit pretty.

At Centennial I help teach our "Smart Owners, Smart Pets" program, and also do some Gentle Leader training. Some of my special interests are horseback riding, cats, and emergency medicine.

I recently joined the veterinary health care team at Centennial Animal Hospital in February 2010. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician and graduate of St. Clair College of Windsor, Ontario. I was born in a small town not too far from here called Penetanguishene. Before Muskoka, I lived in various places from North Wellington area, to Guelph, to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Though I have seen and lived in many beautiful places, I must say Muskoka is the most beautiful, and I look forward to spending time here.

I live in an apartment just outside of Bracebridge with my boyfriend, Mitch, and my son, as I like to call him, Axel. Axel is a rescue dog I adopted while working at the Guelph Humane Society as an Animal Control Officer. I have had dogs and cats all my life, but not until I brought Axel into my home I have never felt such unconditional love for another being. When I adopted him he had been diagnosed with heartworm disease. It was a costly and heart wrenching time, but we made it through. To this day Axel now stands heartworm free!

Growing up I always wanted to make a difference, that's why I chose a career that enables me to defend and care for those who are unable to do so for themselves.

I look forward to learning and advancing in my career at Centennial Animal Hospital. I am very grateful to be apart of such an amazing team.

Maryke Braaksma

I have worked at Centennial Animal Hospital for three years, beginning in August 2004.  In the years that I have been employed here, I have decided that I would like to be a Veterinary Technician and have been accepted into the program at Seneca College.  Unfortunately, many of my family members are allergic to animals, so I don’t have any pets of my own, which is why I enjoy pet and house sitting.  Some of my interests include reading, camping and scrapbooking.

I joined our Patient Care team in August 2003 after a few months of volunteering.  After a few years of being here, I discovered that I wanted a career that allowed me to help others yet still included my love of language.  This discovery led me to McMaster University in September 2006 where I began my first year in Linguistic Cognitive Science.  I have hopes of completing my undergrad and entering a graduate program where I can complete a degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  When I am not at school in Hamilton, I spend my time at home in Bracebridge with my parents, younger sister and very spoiled beagle, Jessie, as well as working at Centennial.

Chantael Bordman

I started working at Centennial in September 2007, and I am currently a Veterinary Assistant.

My partner James and I decided to move from London (after I  attended Fanshawe College) to Bracebridge to be closer to family, and to work at my dream job in a veterinary clinic.  We share our home with our four adopted crazy cats; Charlie, Drake, Hunter and Heidi, and fish named Newton.  We  adopted a "tripawd" dog we call Mac, who was hit by a car on highway 11 in Aug '08. He lived at the clinic for several weeks, and needed amputation surgery on his left fore. He has recovered well, and maintains a very active life with us.

In my spare time I enjoying painting (acrylic, watercolour, and oil),  outdoor activities, spending time with friends, family, and pets, and love to cook. I also enjoy pet-sitting.

Tammy Berzins

I started working at Centennial Animal Hospital at the begining of January 2009. Prior to that I worked at the OSPCA for 2 1/2 years. My future plans include going back to school to become a Veterinary Technician. I enjoy taking care of animals and hope to make animal welfare part of my future endevours. I currently reside  with 2 dogs, and 1 cat, all were rescues. Thea, the GSD, came from Irequois Falls, police raided a grow-op and she was removed from the premises. Romy, the spitz x, and Chub Chub the calico cat both came from the Bracebridge OSPCA. I love them all and can't imagine a life without their vitality and joy.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, boating, shopping, and campfires on the beach.
