Hi everyone! My name is Beatrice and I am a 6 year old, grey tabby. Although my official name is Beatrice, I also answer to Beabins, Baby Bea and probably, most fitting, Queen B! If you can’t tell by my picture, I am the queen of my castle. I was brought into Centennial Animal Hospital when I was approximately 2 weeks old. I had been found in someone’s garage, being attacked by a squirrel, and my mom was nowhere in sight. I had a wound to my head and one of my back legs was badly injured. Given the fact I was too young to take care of myself, I couldn’t be sent back to the garage because there was no one to take care of me. So Casey, one of the technicians at Centennial Animal Hospital, took me home to foster me and she bottle fed me for about 3 weeks. At that point, Casey needed to go away for a conference, so my mom agreed to take care of me for the weekend. I entered the house and had everyone in the “palm of my paw”. Five weeks old and less then 2lbs and I was bossing around the cat and the 75lb dog. My mom was not looking to add anymore pets to the household so when Casey returned, I went back to her house. Nobody had realized, that in two short days, I had woven my magic until the dog and cat spent days after I had left going around the house looking for me and stopped eating. That did the trick and soon Jennifer brought me home permanently. I am not your typical cat. I do not like to be pet or touched, unless it is on my terms, and if you do it longer then I would like, I will bite. Biting is unfortunately my answer for dealing with things as I missed some important lessons growing up; ones that cannot be taught by a human mom. I am lucky that I found a home where I am loved unconditionally and with someone who knows how to live with a cat with some behavioural issues. It is not like I want to hurt anyone, I just don’t know how to deal with things appropriately. I am not one of those cats that interact much with people and I only tolerate the other 3 cats. The one thing I love is my dog. I adore my dog, Leonard; I kiss him, play with him, sleep with him and head butt him! My family think that I look at him like he is my mom but what can I say, I just love dogs! I like to play. My favorite toy in the whole world is the laser toy. I will sit and cry at it and tap it until someone gets it going for me. I go almost trance like and hunt the laser for extended periods of time. I also like pompom balls with foil in them. I carry them around the house in my mouth while caterwauling. I want everyone to know that I have the best toy in the house and for them to admire it. I love watching the birds on the bird feeder. I crouch down low and chatter at them. I honestly think I could catch one if I was given the opportunity but I am an indoor cat. I also love nap times. My favorite spot is on the heated bed – I spend hours at a time on it. I am also happy to curl up on the dog’s bed in the sunshine. I don’t think he minds sharing with me too much... Sometimes, being the Queen of my castle is hard work but, it also has its perks. Getting treats and some tuna, my favorite, everyone once in a while help to make my life even more purrfect!
