DARWIN’S AMAZING ADVENTURE
Hi everyone! I’ll tell you how happy I am to meet you right after I bark to my satisfaction and show you who owns this place. I like to be in charge because, obviously, that is my Border Terrier job.
The other day I took my two younger owners for their daily walk and I was behaving so well, in the forest, that they took my leash off. I was running around sniffing and making sure that the squirrels didn’t bother them, when I smelled a place where a deer had just been walking.
The smell was so exciting I just had to find out where the deer was RIGHT AWAY. I was up and over the top of the nearest hill before anyone could blink and I JUST KEPT GOING. It was so exciting, following the smells of the deer and other animals through the forest. I ran and leapt and sniffed and ran some more. I RAN AND RAN AND RAN. The smells were so fun that I kept going until much later I found myself sniffing along the side of a busy road and I DIDN’T KNOW WHERE I WAS. I hadn’t heard my owners calling for me and hours had gone by.
Luckily, a nice man found me before I got too close to any of the fast cars going by. Another lady with a dog also stopped to help him and they made sure I got to a safe place where I got food (I WAS HUNGRY and TIRED after all that running) and then my owner/mom came to get me and everything was good again.
I’m going to go chase some squirrels away from our bird feeder now. It’s a very important job.
Hi! I’m Marshall!
I am a 9 month old, Siamese mix. I just met my forever family 5 short months ago, after I had been returned to the OSPCA. I don’t know why I was returned because I’m a good boy…well, most of the time.
There was only that one time, when I pushed “Kevin’s”, the fish, tank over but, he deserved it! Or maybe that time when I jumped onto the hot stove, after being told numerous times to stay off the counters? But that’s it.
I like to be very helpful too. Like when I found a flying squirrel in the house. I chased it all over the house until my family showed up. Mom was screaming and Dad and the boys were chasing it around the house wearing boots, gloves and carrying big nets. It was awesome!! We chased it all over the house until it finally escaped outside. Don’t tell my family, but I would have got it if they would have let me.
At night, you can find me snuggled into one of the boys’ beds to keep them warm. During the day, I love sitting in the picture window protecting our house from the birds. Well, that is all for now, I better go as I have a job to do!
Hi! My Name is Desmond. I am a 14 year old, domestic medium-haired cat. I am sure that you are noticing how handsome I am with my soft, white fur and bright blue eyes but, that also means that I cannot hear. It doesn’t bother me too much though; I am an indoor cat and protected from the great outdoors.
I LOVE EVERYBODY! It doesn’t matter if you have 2 legs or 4, I will love you and welcome you into my home with open paws. I also believe that everyone loves me. If I am not getting the attention that I deserve I will tap you gently to remind you how important it is to keep petting me. I am also of the philosophy of why sit beside someone when you could lay on them. I mean how much circulation does a human need to their legs as long as I am comfortable and cozy at all times? By the way, did I mention that I love everybody?!
I try really hard to purr to show my happiness however, with being deaf, I cannot actually hear myself. So, instead of the “typical” cat purr, I actually sound more like I am breathing really hard and fast. My favorite toy in the whole world is ping pong balls. I have tonnes of cat toys but I love the way that ping pong balls bounce and race unpredictably around the house. I chase after them at full speed, sliding around corners on my very furry feet! I am the only cat that I know that does not like catnip. Catnip is boring; who wants a piece of fabric filled with some vegetation to play with anyways? Have I mentioned yet that I love everybody?!
I like helping with renovations around the house be it painting or putting on trim or putting up light fixtures. In fact, my hidden talent is that I am an expert at climbing ladders. My family had no idea that I knew how until, they caught me surveying my kingdom on top of a 12 foot step ladder! Every Christmas I go up the ladder, with my family, to put the angel on top of the tree because I feel they really couldn’t do as good of a job without me.
I spend my days, when I am not laying on my people, snuggled in between the front legs of my dog, while washing his ears, or with my paws wrapped around one of the other cats. I am a very loving and unconditional boy. My whole purpose in life is to spend time with those I love.
Hi there! My name is Gito and I am an exotic, Savannah cat. Now let’s be honest here, I am a pretty good looking dude; I have many outfits that look really good against my white and brown fur. I am told that I’m very demanding and it’s true. I like to announce my presence everywhere that I go.
Let me tell you a little about my everyday life. I start my morning by going into every room in the house and yelling inside to make sure my humans are still there. After my morning rounds, I usually soak my favorite toy in my water dish, or sometimes even the toilet, and then drop it on top of my human’s bed! She ALWAYS gets up when that happens and throws my ball for me. After getting my human up, I run up and down the stairs as loud as I can to make sure I wake up my smelly pet dog, Jaxson; he’s very big and dopy.
I enjoy hanging out on my cat tree most days and in the shower where I can see ghosts! I sleep a lot to make sure I am ready for action once my human finally makes her way back home from the vets. In the meantime, while she keeps me waiting, I clean myself up to make sure I’m picture ready because I like being the center of attention on her Facebook page. I like it best when my human isn’t working because then we can cuddle all day and I can follow her everywhere she goes! Even if she goes outside, I follow. My favorite outdoor adventure is when I get to chase all her chickens, she usually chases me then too, I find it a very fun game!
By the end of the day, I demand treats because I know I protected the house and deserve some reward. After my snack, I will find my way under the covers to sleep right beside my human until it is time for me to do my night check on everyone - night check usually happens around 1am. After I check the house, I go back to my room and sit on my humans face until she moves over enough to let me back under the covers. Then I start all over bright and early the next day!
That’s all for now! TTYL folks!
Greetings common folk. My name is Princess Piggles. When I was first brought home as a young kitten, my family named me Isla. A beautiful name indeed but, due to my fondness for food and adoration (mostly food though), they quickly started calling me Piggles. I added the Princess myself, I mean just look at me, clearly it’s befitting.
My six feline siblings are just ordinary domestic cats. Except Tobey, he has longer hair like me but he is still just average. I’m the only purebred cat in our family. I’m a Ragdoll; it’s got the word “doll” right in the breed name so clearly I’m quite extraordinary. My Mom says she loves us all the same but I think we all know the truth.
I am a proper lady. I never upset my other feline family members. I think they just know their place so it’s really not necessary. I spend my days sleeping and eating, of course. I have my own basket, but my sister’s basket is in a better, more prominent location so sometimes I take hers. She’s not as “fluffy” as me but I make it work, with a few body parts hanging over the edges. I’m rather quiet most of the time and just prefer to be somewhere elevated where I can look down on my human minions and other felines. If I want attention, I will come to you. Please do not interrupt me when I’m sleeping. A Princess needs her beauty sleep. When I am hungry (which is rather often) I position myself in the middle of the kitchen and utter the most mournful of meows. We only get fed three times a day so it’s essential I let my humans know that it is meal time or I might fade away. The other cats eat from regular ceramic cat bowls but I prefer my meals to be served to me on my little red plate. Nothing says royalty like red, so it just makes sense really.
Well, I must rest know. Writing is quite exhausting and working is not something I am used to nor something I ever want to do. It just doesn’t fit in with my lifestyle. Princesses don’t work, they reign over their kingdom.
Hi! My name is Thomas. They tell me that I am a domestic short-haired cat, however, I am sure that is not true as I know that I have descended from royalty. How they can call royalty "domestic" is beyond me. Although I am 15 years old, I have only lived with my mom for 3 years now. Jennifer adopted my sister and I when we were re-homed through Centennial Animal Hospital. I knew from the moment that I laid eyes on her that she would be my family. However, it took her a long, 3 months to realize that she needed me as much as I needed her. I have made it my purpose in life to be Jennifer's shadow; we do everything together. She cannot go anywhere or do anything without me being right beside her. I have also taken it upon myself to manage the household. The other cats and the dog only do things or go places that I allow them to. I am a bit of a stickler for a tight schedule. Each morning I wake my family at 5:30am with my beautiful singing. Just like an alarm clock, I get louder over time. What can I say? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I want to make sure that it is served on time! If my mom doesn't want to get up that early, on her days off, I show her extra affection by tapping her face with my claws and rubbing my teeth on her forehead. That generally does the trick! That being said, I am really enjoying my "golden years"! I spend my days lounging in the sunshine or curled up on the heated bed until my mom comes home from work. I am spoiled! I am always showered with love, catnip, my favorite toys and good food. Although I can never be spoiled enough, in my books, I really did luck out!
Hi! Angus here, at your service! Ready to alert my owners if anyone drives in the driveway or knocks at the front door! I’m a Shih-poo, and was born 5 years ago at Centennial Animal Hospital by C-section along with my 2 sisters. I’ve lived with a few cats over the years, but nowadays I am the king of the house. I love to play fetch and then “you can’t get my toy”, and I absolutely love going for walks. I’m big into cuddles too…spooning under the covers with my family or getting tummy rubs on the couch. Bark, bark, bark, bark….nice to meet you!
