My name is Princess Poppy! I was named by a 4 year old girl and the name has really grown on me. I have only been living with my family for about one year. I was adopted, along with my sister (Peanut the Destroyer – named by a 7 year old boy), when I was brought into Centennial Animal Hospital by the OSPCA; I had overgrown teeth and couldn’t eat properly. My overgrown teeth made it difficult for me to be adopted so thankfully, I now live in a great home, with 3 little humans who love us a lot. I come to work with my mom about every 3 months to get my teeth trimmed.
I spend most of my days snacking on hay or pellets but I LOVE tomatoes!!! My picture shows how messy my face gets after I eat them. The first time my mom gave them to me she thought I was bleeding – it was so funny watching her panic and figure out where the “blood” was coming from. I have trained Mom and Dad to feed us when we start to whistle (usually when they make the "little humans" lunches for school because there are lots of fruits and veggies in there). They were really easy to train and are quick to give up the goods!!!
This winter has been a very long one and I cannot wait until the weather is warmer and the snow melts so we can spend more time outside purring and eating grass and dandelions. As much as we love snuggles, being outside is so exciting!!! Let’s hope this nice sunshine sticks around and spring 2018 is here to stay.
I am a 4 year old, Chihuahua cross who has many different names. My owners named me Callaway but I also go by the names of Bouches, Wankerino, Guessepie, and my dog-sitter calls me Cal. I share a house with a black cat, who likes to give me baths on a regular basis. I like to chase him when he moves quickly because you never know where he could be running to so fast. We also cuddle for warmth on mom and dad's bed since they keep this “house” of ours at freezing cold Antarctic temperatures and I am used to the Mexican thermostat! Besides being a couch potato, and sleeping underneath the blankets all day, I enjoy going to the golf course and chasing after the cart, sunbathing in the summer time, and being in my mom’s arms or on her lap. I have the stomach/brain of a Labrador which means I LOVEEEEEEEE food! All FOOD! Food is my life besides sleeping. I also love being a terrier and chasing creatures such as squirrels, chipmunks, and my uncle's chickens. I know I appear small, but when I chase them and bark at them, I feel big, scary, and powerful.
Anyways, this has taken a lot of energy to write, so I am going to go beg my dad for a snack, then back to the couch and sleeping under the blankets to keep warm until summer arrives!
Hi, I’m She-ra!
I was named by my human Grandma. Not long after I was chosen by my human mother, she couldn’t find the perfect name for me. My Grandma was flipping through the TV late one night and came across the animated show She-ra the Princess of Power. So, that is how I got my name!
Let me tell you that the name was not only Purrfect, but so me! In my household I call all of the shots. Every morning I have to be fed no later than 7am. To make sure my parents don’t forget, as they are forgetful, I start waking them up at 6am!
I always have to know who my mom is talking to on the phone however, she doesn’t seem to pay attention to me. Play fighting with her always gets her attention! When I was a kitten I grew up with dogs so in my heart I am a dog. I love dogs! I can even play fetch too!
I may seem like a lot to handle but, I am a playful, sassy kitty of soon to be 9 years old. I stole my mom’s heart when she first laid eyes on me at 8 weeks old and that is why I can get away with so much! ;)
DARWIN’S AMAZING ADVENTURE
Hi everyone! I’ll tell you how happy I am to meet you right after I bark to my satisfaction and show you who owns this place. I like to be in charge because, obviously, that is my Border Terrier job.
The other day I took my two younger owners for their daily walk and I was behaving so well, in the forest, that they took my leash off. I was running around sniffing and making sure that the squirrels didn’t bother them, when I smelled a place where a deer had just been walking.
The smell was so exciting I just had to find out where the deer was RIGHT AWAY. I was up and over the top of the nearest hill before anyone could blink and I JUST KEPT GOING. It was so exciting, following the smells of the deer and other animals through the forest. I ran and leapt and sniffed and ran some more. I RAN AND RAN AND RAN. The smells were so fun that I kept going until much later I found myself sniffing along the side of a busy road and I DIDN’T KNOW WHERE I WAS. I hadn’t heard my owners calling for me and hours had gone by.
Luckily, a nice man found me before I got too close to any of the fast cars going by. Another lady with a dog also stopped to help him and they made sure I got to a safe place where I got food (I WAS HUNGRY and TIRED after all that running) and then my owner/mom came to get me and everything was good again.
I’m going to go chase some squirrels away from our bird feeder now. It’s a very important job.
Hi! I’m Marshall!
I am a 9 month old, Siamese mix. I just met my forever family 5 short months ago, after I had been returned to the OSPCA. I don’t know why I was returned because I’m a good boy…well, most of the time.
There was only that one time, when I pushed “Kevin’s”, the fish, tank over but, he deserved it! Or maybe that time when I jumped onto the hot stove, after being told numerous times to stay off the counters? But that’s it.
I like to be very helpful too. Like when I found a flying squirrel in the house. I chased it all over the house until my family showed up. Mom was screaming and Dad and the boys were chasing it around the house wearing boots, gloves and carrying big nets. It was awesome!! We chased it all over the house until it finally escaped outside. Don’t tell my family, but I would have got it if they would have let me.
At night, you can find me snuggled into one of the boys’ beds to keep them warm. During the day, I love sitting in the picture window protecting our house from the birds. Well, that is all for now, I better go as I have a job to do!
